1964: Robert Taylor started Minnetonka, Inc. by making soap in his garage. Minnetonka, Inc. grew to include brands such as Softsoap, Checkup Toothpaste, Vitabath, Claire Burke, Rigaud and Village Bath.
1980: Minnetonka’s Village Bath and Softsoap brands were acquired by Colgate-Palmolive.
1989: Unilever acquired Minnetonka, Inc. for the Calvin Klein fragrances.
1993: Minnetonka Brands was founded by former Softsoap executives who re-acquired the rights to Village Bath and Sesame Street toiletry brands from Colgate-Palmolive.
2000: The Village Naturals brand has bubble baths in several fragrances.
2005: Minnetonka Brands changed it’s name to The Village Company. The Village Naturals brand was updated to Village Naturals Spa, and the Bubble Bath was reformulated to an Ultra Moisturizing Milk bath. The graphics were updated to show the spa like feel of the updated products.
2007: Village Naturals Spa was updated to Village Naturals Bath Shoppe. The label graphics were changed to showcase the individual fragrances.
2010: The Bath Shoppe Milk Bath was updated to a Milk Bath and Body Wash for dual usage in both the tub and shower.
2012: The original Milk Bath jug was brought back by popular demand, providing our loyal bathers with their at-home spa experience and continuing to delight those who use the product in both the bathtub and shower.
2015: The graphics were updated to showcase our high quality moisturizing ingredients: Shea Butter, Milk Protein, Vitamin E and Aloe.
